Genital Herpes Symptoms In Women

The female symptoms of herpes are not particularly different from the male symptoms of herpes but if you are a woman with genital herpes, it is important to recognize the symptoms early. Doing so will allow for immediate treatment and also for you to stop all sexual contact which will greatly reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Herpes outbreaks can happen on the body above the knees and below the waist. It is rare but not impossible to experience symptoms on the buttocks and/or on the thighs. It is most common for genital herpes to appear on the soft mucous membranes in the female genital area which can include the labia, vaginal area, and rectum as well as any skin in or around these areas. Please note that these are generalizations of the symptoms of female genital herpes.

Early symptoms of female genital herpes will be intense tingling or itching where you can expect the outbreak to appear. The outbreak will move through these symptoms and you may feel a considerable amount of swelling and pain as the outbreak comes out from under the skin. The sore or blister may tug at the already painful skin and cause extra pain. A few drops of tea tree oil mixed with sesame or olive oil can be applied to reduce pain and discomfort.

The sores of blisters of a the outbreak may be filled with a watery type fluid. As the outbreak opens you will have great relief from any previously painful soreness and swelling. The outbreak is now healing and you can use vitamin E oil directly on the blister to increase healing and bring the membranes and skin back to a healthy state.

The symptoms of female genital herpes do not have to be misunderstood. To have knowledge is powerful and if you can understand and recognize your herpes symptoms, you will feel much more empowered and in control of your HSV2.
